Can you get Polio by shaking hands with someone?

Well, theres this one kis in my cl who has Polio....and he asked to take a look at my ipod. His hands were on it, now i got home and found out that it is contagious......Im worried. Should i disinfect my ipod and vigorously wash my hands?
