Do largemouths like rubber shads?

i was fsihin last night at about 8 to 8 30 and i casted out a 2 inch shad and each cast i got a bite i ended up catchin 4 b one 20 in walleye and a 3 ft pike .will that lure consistantly work ps i liv in minnesota
