WIC NC - declining the blood test?

I live in NC, Alamance County. I would like to decline the blood test for my daughter at our upcoming WIC appointment. If I ask to decline and say that we will talk to the pediatrician about whether it is necessary, will they accept that? Or if I say its due to religious beliefs, would they question any further? She isn't vaccinated and I'd rather not open that can of worms, so I'm hesitant to say religious beliefs as it might lead to other questions.
